Purpose: To provide financial assistance to Missouri CLS or MLT students for formal education, research,
or continuing education which directly relates to laboratory science.
Amount of Financial Award(s): $200
Eligibility Requirement: Acceptance into, or enrolled in, an education program leading to a
CLS or MLT degree.
Application
Requirements:
A. Formal Education Assistance
1. Proof of acceptance, or enrollment, in the education program.
2. Personal letter indicating your financial need, career goals, and professional and
non-professional involvement.
3. Letter of reference from a program official indicating your scholastic achievement and personal
character.
If awarded the scholarship: Write an article for the SoShowMe
Example: "A year in the life of a CLS/MLT student", or a personal experience while a student.
B. Research Assistance
1. Proof of acceptance, or enrollment, in the education program.
2. Letter stating your research proposal or activity and its benefit to laboratory science; including
your financial need, career goals, and professional and non-professional involvement.
3. Letter of recommendation from someone who is familiar with you and your research goal.
If awarded the scholarship: Write an article for the SoShowMe about your
research.
C. Continuing Education Assistance
1. Proof of acceptance, or enrollment, in the education program.
2. Letter specifying the continuing education activity and why it will benefit you and the
profession.
3. Personal letter indicating your financial need, career goals, and professional and
non-professional involvement.
4. Letter of reference from a program official indicating your scholastic achievement and
personal character.
If
awarded the scholarship: Write an
article for the SoShowMe about what the continuing event was and how it will
help you in your career.
Deadline for
Application
A. Formal Education or Research: Two months prior to MoCLS's annual conference.
Award announced at the meeting.
B. Continuing Education: Two months prior to the event.
